Class 11 runs more than sixty tests — chapter tests, cumulative tests and semi-grand tests. Class 12 runs more than a hundred, adding full grand tests on the examination pattern. Sitting time is scheduled in its own slots, over and above the hours above.

Prashant R. Sahay

A Physics teacher first, an institution builder second. Three of his students have finished first in India — the most recent in NEET 2024, from Mangalore — and many more have taken single-digit All India Ranks in JEE Advanced and NEET.

He teaches by a method he states plainly as minimum mathematics, maximum visualisation. An Irodov problem or an Olympiad question is taken apart on the board until the physics is visible; only then is anything written down. Students taught this way stop memorising formulae, because they stop needing to. It is also the reason he can teach at IPhO level, which very few faculty in the coaching system attempt at all.

Sahay Gurukul is wholly owned and directed by him. He designs each campus programme, selects the faculty deployed to it, and reviews it himself — which is precisely why the number of campuses is kept small.

    A conversation, not a pitch

    Forty minutes with the Chairperson, Principal or Trustee. We ask what happens to your students after Class 10, and where the results are currently lost.

  2. 02

    Campus and cohort study

    We look at your existing timetable, cohort sizes, board results, infrastructure and calendar, and tell you plainly whether an integrated programme fits — and where it will not.

  3. 03

    The academic plan

    Batch structure, subject hours, the merged Board and JEE/NEET sequence, the testing calendar, the review rhythm, and the commercial terms. Written down before anyone signs anything.

  4. 04

    Deployment and launch

    Faculty are placed on campus, material and the testing platform go live, an academic coordinator is appointed, and parents are briefed. From that day the results are ours to answer for.

Questions we are usually asked

Before you take this
to your management.

Do you run coaching centres of your own?

No. We teach on partner campuses. That is deliberate — a centre of our own would compete with you for the same students, and no institution should have to trust a partner whose interests run against its own.

Does this work for a PU college, or only CBSE and ICSE schools?

Both. The Integrated JEE and NEET programme for Classes 11 and 12 runs on PU campuses as well as CBSE and ICSE schools, with the sequence rebuilt around the PU syllabus and examination calendar. K-CET preparation is built into the Karnataka version as standard.

Who pays whom?

The institution pays Sahay Classes a per-batch, per-year fee for deploying the faculty and the programme. What you charge students for the programme is your decision entirely. Our contract is with you, not with parents — though we will sit in front of parents and explain the programme whenever you ask.

What happens to our own teachers?

Under Model 1 they keep the entire Board syllabus and we take only the competitive track. Under Model 2 they move to other grades or other subjects, and we take PCMB end to end. In both cases an academic coordinator exists to keep the two sides synchronised rather than parallel, and we train your faculty where you want that.

Whose name does the programme carry?

Yours. Parents are enrolling in your campus and your programme. We are the academic engine behind it, and we are content to be introduced as such.

Can we begin with the Foundation programme alone?

Yes, and many campuses do. Classes 7 to 10 carry lower risk, cost less, and build the cohort that later fills your Class 11 batches. A number of our long partnerships began exactly this way.

How is progress reported to us?

Through the testing platform's analytics — topic-wise, batch-wise and student-wise — with written academic reviews at fixed intervals and scheduled meetings with the management. Parent meetings run to a published calendar, not arranged when results slip.

How many campuses do you take on?

A small number each year. Senior faculty of this calibre cannot be recruited quickly, and a partnership that outruns the bench is a partnership that fails in its second year.
